Our History.

 

Since its formation in 1971, Nairobi Central Band was trained by Major. Swansbury and Major. Northwood, assisted by Captain Dean, Captain Best, Captain Whitehouse and S/Ldr. Samson British Citizens . Mr. Ayoo, a Kenyan later was appointed as the Bandmaster which made the group thrive for many years. In 1978 after the passing on of the first President of the Republic of Kenya the group performed at state house for two weeks.

Our Accomplishments.

 

In 1979 the group made very successful music concerts at Kisumu and its environs conveying the musical message of peace and unity to the locals.  The group visited very many places spreading the word of God in Bungoma, Eldoret, Mbale, Musudzuu Magadi Soda, Machakos, Embu & the Church of Torch Kikuyu, Mombasa among others.

 

In 1980 the group participated in many Radio and TV programme and produced  audio records which it has refined over the years. Apart from being a church group the band has also successfully trained Bands men/Women who are now working in the Armed forces.

Our Qualifications.

 

The band trainers have  immence qualification from abroad and have exhibited both in the perfomance and the music school as  tutors. The professional delivery of classic music has strenghten ties with the Kenya govenment which occasionally invites it to perfom to the president at statehouse and in stadia during public funtions.

 

The band has since then received both local and international invitations to perform in special occassions both private and public receiving many awards on best brass n percussion band in Kenya.
